Happy 2026 Coalition! š
I have a lot of news to report.
As you all know, we are in the process of setting up Outpost 3 in New Mexico. With that being said, we are looking for someone to serve as the Coalition Commander in Tallahassee. If you are interested, please send us an email. Requirements posted below.
OUR WEBSITE IS ALMOST READY!!!! Hereās a screenshot Thank you for your patience. It will be worth the wait.
āOutpost 1 Coalition Commander Neededā
Requirements:
Honorably discharged veteran
Verifiable experience leading in a veteran organization
Comfortable with public speaking
Comfortable using online tools such as Google Workspace (GSuite), Slack, Microsoft Teams, etc.
Able to scan and upload documents to a computer
Cannot currently be a Commander/President leading a VSO in the coalition
(If you are within 30 days of the end of your tour, we will waive this restriction)
Position Overview
This role serves as the public face for Outpost 1.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure a coalition meeting is held every month without exception.
In the event that the designated Commander or VSO representative is unable to lead the monthly meeting, you will step in to facilitate and lead the meeting.
Prepare and email the weekly report to community subscribers every Friday.
Note: In some weeks, there may be no new content for the weekly report, depending on submissions from coalition members. The key priority is to consistently distribute information as soon as it is received, maintaining steady communication with the community. 4000 people read the Weekly report every month.
The best part is you donāt have to create the content because the Veteran leaders send you the content to send out. You are essentially a virtual mail carrier. :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
Our Legal Clinic yesterday at American Legion Sauls Bridges Post 13, featured our volunteer Team of 20 this afternoon including 7 attorneys, working with 17 Veterans and family walking in and others by phone; Veterans volunteered with set up, intakes, etc. even though their court-ordered community service requirements have already been completed. (Khalid, Leonard). Three other Veterans worked community service for civil or criminal court obligations. Congrats to longtime Veterans Court staffer Brenda Mueller for her retirement from the Leon Court Administrators Office over the holidays and our deepest appreciation for her volunteering today at the Legal Clinic and generous support for TVLC.
This Saturday evening, the American Legion Post 13 is hosting a fund-raiser which we all need to support: A Neil Diamond tribute singer will be entertaining, doors open at 7 pm for $20 admission. Call 850/284-6967 for tickets (see flyer) AND you can buy a ticket at the door.
Leon County Veterans Treatment Court participants volunteered with TVLC both yesterday and today. Yesterdayās truck and trailer load of food was delivered to various sites around the county and was worked by Veterans Khalid Shafi, Charles Robinson, Linda Broga, Leonard Bell and Eddie McMillian. (See photo); The Commanders Coalition met again yesterday, with half of TVLCās Board participating, and the local VFW Post 3308 started off the meeting announcing they will be donating to TVLC each quarter in recognition of our work!
This Monday, Donāt miss the next LEON VETERANS TREATMENT COURT session: January 12, 3 PM in the downtown Courthouse, Courtroom 2E. Please consider coming to observe/ maybe becoming a Veteran Mentor for the Vets working their way through the program and recovery.
Donations to TVLC from various events in recent months and ongoing supporters are helping Veterans successfully reinstate their Driverās Licenses, sometimes after years of being unable to lawfully drive. The donations also provide gas for the weekly Food Delivery trips to Quincy for the various Veteran housing facilities around the region.

What else?
