Good Day Outpost 1
I am pleased to report that only 1 signature remains for Major Haynes paperwork. Once the final signature happens, the documents will be printed on archival quality paper and mailed to the White House. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort.

Veterans that might not have much or any benefits remaining for their dependentâs college, Freedom Alliance Scholarship is open to applications. Not a guaranteed award but as I always say, âwhatâs the worst they can say, no?â Apply!
Read qualifications to see if you meet requirements and have your high school senior apply. One of them however being:
Become 100% totally & permanently disabled as a direct result of a combat mission, with priority given to those who have a single combat-related disability rated at 70% or more. This does not apply to Servicemembers who are Silver Star or Purple Heart medal recipients, as they only need a combined 100% total and permanent disability rating. Qualifying parent must have received an Honorable discharge.

Hi, Team
This next Monday, Oct 26, the Leon County Veterans Treatment Court will be in session Monday, Oct 26 at 3pm, in the Leon County Courthouse, Courtroom 2E. Hope you can come observe, and may consider becoming a Veteran Mentor for one of the Vets working their way through the program. Several Veterans will be graduating next month on 11/23, same time and place, which is an inspiring day to come to Court! And mark your calendar for the November 23 Graduation Ceremony same time, same place.
This past Thursday,10 22 26, our clinic team of 19 Volunteers, including 8 attys, worked with 23 Veterans and family members at the American Legion Post 13. (Housing emergencies, VA hassles, domestic disputes, driverâs license barriers, etc.) And the new tabling partner, Comfort Keepers, was able to AGAIN offer timely assistance for Vets with intense family needs, along with the N FL/ S Ga Wellness Coalition, and other agencies.
We need volunteers for the Quincy farmshare trip, delivering the truckandtrailer load of food to Vets around Leon County Wednesdays.
One upcoming legal opportunity NOVEMBER 12 deserves your attention: ANY VETERAN WHO HAS NOT YET UPDATED THEIR VARIOUS âEND OF LIFEâ DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING WILLS, should plan to come to our legal clinic the day after Veterans Day, as we host SEVERAL OTHER local legal organizations (through the 2d Judicial Circuitâs Pro Bono Committee) who are joining us at the American Legion that Thursday for an expanded service- extra lawyers- so come take advantage of this chance for free legal help.
Redux: Expanded services by TVLC attorneys are available for handling VA cases for local Veterans. But the number of issues with the VA is outstripping our number of attys to keep up with the complications, new claims, and VA delays; so, any other attorneys wanting to join our âVA Law team,â we need you, and have training and national legal resources available to bring you into the fray. Were you a JAG? Have you helped with Social Security or other federal agencies that you already have a headstart on picking up VA law?
What else?
